Today we celebrate Hispanic heritage month by recognizing Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz - a 17 century women's rights activist who fought hard for educational rights for women. She was born in Spain, lived much of her life in Mexico, and is credited as the first published feminist of the new world.   

Seniors—you have 1 week left to purchase your senior ad for the yearbook.  Senior ad payment is due by October 11th to Mrs. Choate.  Purchase forms are in the front office or in room 201.  Don't miss this opportunity!  

Hey Falcons! Are you interested in a Halloween-themed powderpuff game? The junior and senior girls class can sign up in the activities office until Friday October 18th . If you're a junior or a senior boy, you can sign up to dance during the game. It will cost $20 dollars to play, which includes your t-shirt. If you are interested in a powderpuff t-shirt student senate will be selling them in the book store before and after school  Oct 28th-Nov 1st.  Powderpuff will take place Friday November 1st, 6-7:30pm and we hope to see you there! 

Do you have some work you need to get done? Are you looking to raise your grades? If yes, then Catch Up Academy is the place for you! Catch Up Academy will take place 9-11 on Saturday, October 12th in the West Library. Talk to a teacher or your counselor to get signed up to attend.  

Join Davenport Girls Wrestling.  This is a district team, open to girls from all Davenport schools.  There will be a parents meeting October 15 in the West Cafeteria from 6-7 PM.  Contact coach Park 563-676-0159 

ALL GRADES 9-12 have picture retakes  Today in the Library from 8:30-12:00.  There will be one photographer dedicated to 9-11, and two photographers dedicated to seniors.  Students, this is your LAST CHANCE to get photographed!
